NEWBORN CARE

WHAT IS NEWBORN CARE?

Essential newborn care is important for all babies in the first days after birth. As a paediatrician, Dr Shah can be present during the birth of your baby to conduct the appropriate assessments and provide emergency care if it is required. Immediate postpartum care and ongoing care for the newborn are both considered part of essential newborn care.

Clean cord care, thermal care, breastfeeding within the first hour of birth, immediate asphyxia management, and early sepsis management are essential newborn care interventions. Providing a newborn with the necessary care is vital for your little one’s health, growth, and development. Dr Shah is able to attend to newborn deliveries via caesarean section or normal vertex delivery (vaginal birth).
